Your questions,
answered
What is hyperhidrosis?
Hyperhidrosis is a condition involving excessive sweating that goes beyond what’s necessary to regulate body temperature, and it can significantly impact quality of life.
How do we treat it?
At Aesthetic Skin Co. by Lilly, we offer highly effective treatments that reduce sweating by temporarily blocking the nerve signals that activate sweat glands.
Is the treatment painful?
Most clients tolerate it well, though a numbing cream can be applied if needed for comfort.
How long do results last?
On average, results last between 4 to 9 months, depending on the treatment area and your body’s response. Some clients find underarm results last even longer.
Is it safe?
Yes, when administered by a qualified practitioner. Side effects are generally mild and temporary, such as tenderness or minor bruising at the injection site.
How long does it take for the treatment to start working?
How long does it take for the treatment to start working?
If I get my underarms treated, will I create more sweat in other areas?
No, despite common belief, sweat is not transferred to another gland, creating further problems. Our process assists in regulating the over-production of sweat, and it will not stimulate production in other areas.
What does the treatment involve?
The nurse will first identify where the sweat glands are most active. This is done by applying iodine solution to the treatment area, then dusting with powder. The area turns blue/black where there is sweat. The area is marked with a surgical pen, then cleansed prior. Many patients report that the procedure is tolerable; however, we can offer numbing to support those who feel particularly uncomfortable.
